Communication Disorders

Neurological conditions — including stroke, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and other conditions affecting the brain and nervous system can change the way you speak, understand language, read, or write. These changes can be frightening and isolating, both for you and the people around you. Our team to provide specialist assessment and therapy for adults experiencing communication difficulties as a result, helping you rebuild confidence and connection in everyday life.


We work closely with neurologists, rehabilitation physicians, and other allied health professionals to provide coordinated, evidence-based care tailored to your specific communication needs and recovery goals.


Conditions we treat:

  • Aphasia (difficulty with language, including speaking, understanding, reading, and writing)
  • Dysarthria (slurred or unclear speech due to muscle weakness)
  • Apraxia of speech
  • Cognitive-communication difficulties following stroke or brain injury
  • Communication changes related to Parkinson's disease
  • Communication changes related to multiple sclerosis and other progressive neurological conditions

Appointments are available in person at our Ladhope Chambers rooms in Spring Hill or via telehealth from anywhere in Queensland or Australia.
